I typically dont post on this blog more than once a day (more like once a week) But I wanted to take a minute and tell you about our great friends Matt and Mandi. I have blogged before about Drew and helping bring him homeHere is an awsome fundraiser that Mandi has put together!!
But it gets even better. God is leading them to even bigger things, He is stretching them even further and has lead them to another child who needs a home. Matt and Mandi will be bringing home not one but 2 children when they go to China. They are adopting 4 year old Drew and a boy who will turn 14 on May 1st.
In China, the sad reality is that the orphanage will only support children until a set age. At 14 a child "ages out" and is no longer able to be adopted. After this occurs the child has no other recourse but to find employment in the SWI itself, or end up on the streets. Social stigma for orphans is SO huge and they are considered "unlucky" I cannot imagine Taylor (my 15 year old) being all on her own at this age. Having nothing and no one. It is heartbreaking!
Needless to say, they need your help more than ever. They need to be in China by May 1st and are still short a significant amount of money. Enter their giveaway, tell people about their journey, or if you are in the area come to the local pasta dinner and silent auction we are having on Saturday. Help bring these boys HOME!
