You may see some odd things going on in my blog if you view it regualarly. It is currently getting a much needed face lift and it is taking a bit longer than I had planned. Go figure. So if you see that backgrounds are missing or interesting things like that...dont worry it will all be back better than ever soon!!
*if I can get it all figured out *

Valentines crafts

Look What I Made!!! I am so stinkin excited that it ended up looking like it was supposed to! I am honestly "craft challenged" but I love love love to try them. I found the idea for this one here and absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. I have a severe shoratge of Valentines day decor for some reason, so I decided to try this. It was time consuming, but pretty easy and inexpensive. Woo Hoo!
Sammy also worked on some Valentine decorations for the house today...

first the coloring and the glue...

Just a little glitter....
and done!!
He made one for everyone and now they are decorating our patio door!! He had a ball and I totally forgot how glitter gets all over EVERYTHING!! hehehee

Winter Wiggles...
Today I got a call from a great friend that her girls were beginning to bounce off the walls she was taking them to the park all bundled up in their snow gear! Considering that Sammy was currently trying to get me to play baseball and hockey in the house I decided that burning off some energy might be a wise choice. So we braved the oh so chilly 30 degree weather (if only the wind would have stayed away) and let the kids run, jump, climb, fall, and explore for an hour or so while we snapped pix and chatted.

Do ya think that the moms will see us in the sand table??

What a gentleman..
Here is the falling part...not so steady in his boots yet :-)
Can I just say that besides the numb ears it was a huge sucess....I got some Mom time and Sammy was zonked out in the car before we even got home...a Win Win!!

Random....
This week has been full of fun for us. Craft time, play time, and deal seeking have been our focus! For the first time in about 5 years ALL of my laundry is done. COMPLETE...amazing. I still can't believe that actually.
My deal hunting continued as Tim and I ran to Old N*vy to exchange some jeans and stumbled upon their 50% off of their clearance sale!! I was able to score some incredible deals....
I got 2 pairs of pants for Tim and 4 shirts, I got 13 shirts for Zach for the remainder of this year and next, as well as a sweatshirt, hat and shorts. For Em and Tay I got 3 shirts, 2 camis, a hoodie and about 6 pair of underware. I also picked up a gift or two..shhh!! All for 80 dollars!! WOOO HOOO I was just giddy!! It isnt every day that I can buy brand new shirts for under 2 dollars a piece.
It is amazing how many deals you can find if you have time to look for them. That is the one of the many benefits about staying home. I love trying to find the "best" deal and am managing to slash my budget by taking the time to do it!!
Enough shopping stuff...
Taylor is doing well, she remains super busy with her social life and her Winter Guard. The competition season starts up this month so we will be busy busy for the next 6-8 Saturdays, but she loves it and is great at it!! School is going well for her this year and she has been getting more and more babysitting opportunities. It is great for her to get some extra money to spend since I cant/wont fund her entire social life:-)
Em is great as usual. She has such an incredible circle of friends and they are all in a great bible study together put on by one of the Moms. She has such a love for the Lord and isnt embarrassed to show it!! She is excited to be trying out for the spring musical at her school at the end of the month as well as trying out for a local theater production...busy busy!!
Zach is doing especially well now that I am at home and have more one on one time with him as far as school work goes. He has more trouble with reading than the girls did so the extra time I have with him will make some serious difference. He continues to excel in anything remotely athletic! He got a rip stick for Christmas as well as snowboard and is already doing great with them (the huge benefit of an unfinished basement!)
Sammy is slightly confused as to why mama is home all day I think. He keeps going "where daddy go?" Tim has worked nights since he came home so I think that he never realized Tim went to work :-) He is progressing at an amazing rate...He speaks all in English now, he has gone from falling randomly to being able to walk up and down stairs unassited. He is the BEST cleaner I have in the house as far as putting his stuff away and just simply loves him some crafts!!

Life as a SAHM
Well officially I have only had one day as a SAHM since I worked half a day at a group home here, but still....
Likes:
Sleeping in a bit
Daily bible time with no kiddos for distraction
Nap time
Playing with Sammy
craft time
being able to get some of my organizing done
Taking pictures
Spending mom time with my friends
A much slower pace
Dislikes:
The fact that everyone keeps saying that I can do it since I dont work....
LAUNDRY
Trying to figure out how to save money...
Which actually leads me to the meaning of this post. There are TONS of sites out there about saving money! So many my head spins and I end up wasting many many hours on my computer. There are sites that do all your coupon matching for you to save on groceries. There are sites that teach you to "work" different store sales to get the best dea, there are sites that list daily freebies, sites that do online coupon codes, sites for discount meal planning...you get the idea. It is amazing to me how much money I could have been saving if I just would have had the time to find these sites when I was working. AMAZING
Now I just check out a couple of my favorites a day and sign up for any freebies using Roboform, and watch the new offers.
Now I have just been checking certain sites a couple times a day..
Life as a mom
Hip 2 Save
NPRA
these are my favorites right now!! Anyone have any other great money saving sites???
Today I have my going away luncheon on my agenda and maybe squeeze in time for a photoshoot between loads of laundry and piles of play dough

Change...its a good thing right??
Change,
I dont like it really. I tend to get into my routines, my comfort zones and even though they may not be ideal, they are comforting to me in their consistency :-)
This week has been ALL about change for us.
Im still not sure I like it, but still...
We were blessed with Tim's new job...but that created an entirely new set of issues for us. You see, Tim's new job is on first shift now...and my job is on first shift...and we have a toddler...do you see the problem?????
Ummm yeah.... somethin had to give...
So now you are currently reading the blog of an officially unemployed nurse...for now. Actually I am going to be working on an as needed basis but still. No schedule, no case load, no clients, no nothing. After 4 years it is really odd for me to know that I dont have to go in Monday morning. (I am sure I wont be sad Monday when the alarm doesnt go off though :-)
I am sad in many ways, but actually excited in others. This is a new chapter for us. I feel so blessed but scared too. My job has become a big part of who I am. What I do, the difference I make in the lives of my clients are important to me. I am praying that the "as needed" (hopefully once a week) basis is enough for me. It is a delicate balance I think. I want to be home with my kids, do all the things that I can to be the best mom I know how to...but what if that isnt enough? What if Im not good enough? See...I told you I dont like change!
I am going to miss my coworkers, my clients, my job in general...but God is leading us in a totally new direction now! I will embrace it, follow it....
But it is still change :-)
