testing day 1...and some surprise visits!

So......

Can I just say that I spent the best 4 dollars of my life when I paid to download those videos of Mickey and Diego to my ipod? at 25 minutes each..they bought me a lot of peace in the car for the LONG ride!! I have a feeling a couple new episodes will be arriving for the ride home!

Really the car ride was about as bad as I expected. Waking up at 6 with nothing but apple juice doesnt make for a happy toddler. We arrived in Cincy with no problem (Thanks Gary and Angie for the loan of the GPS...it has been a lifesaver!!) and found where we needed to go and were about 30 minutes early. Cincy is a HUGE hospital with lots of different sections, so this was pretty impressive! We hung out in Radiology a while and met our interpreter. She was GREAT! It was the best advice from the IA adoption yahoo group! She will be with us the whole time! Although Sammy doesnt speak to her..at least not yet....she has been invaluable for explaining the medical procedures that he has had to do. The testing today went well. The MRI machine crashed so we were about an hour behind, but Sammy went under anesthesia with no problem and came out of it about 4:00. HE WAS STARVED! I managed to get registered at the RMH while I was waiting for the procedure (2.5 hours!!) and it is a darn good thing. He consumed 3 pks of graham crkrs and 2 cups of juice before we left the recovery room. 2 more pks of graham crkrs in the car and a juice box and then 2 things of yougurt at the RMH house and some brownies. About an hour later he ate a full dinner of spagetti and meatballs! Poor guy. I was amazed he didnt puke! No problem with the anesthetic, but when we got to the RMH he was determined to walk by himself and fell flat on his face. Ouch! Needless to say he let me carry him from then on.

After dinner we scored some free tix to the festival of lights at the Zoo here. It was raining, but not overly cold so we braved the elements and had a blast! The place was empty, so we had Santa, the reindeer, frosty, gingerbread men, Mrs claus, and the Nativity to ourselves! We watched a segment of the Polar Express in 4D (by ourselves) and had just a lovely time seeing all the gorgeos lights. It is amazing!! Sammy is certainly getting into the Christmas spirit and so am I!

Tommorow is lots more testing so we are off to bed now!!

So glad to hear things are going well. I love the pictures. Sammy is to cute. Gabe is a little bummed that Sammy wasn't here yesterday. He has no one to play with and keeps asking when Sammy is coming back.

I will be praying that all continue to goes well.

Glad the first day went well. I hope the rest of them as just as good.

It will be nice to have some answers about where you stand with his SN. That was a great relief when we finally knew what was what with T.

Take care and I'll be thinking of you.
