We are also still getting meals delivered to us...and let me tell you, that has been such a blessing for us, not to worry about that ontop of everything else that I have been trying to keep track of! So we have been pretty much set in the food department :-)
Yesterday was also Sammys first pediatrician appt. Now...I love our pediatrician. He is awsome and my kids all love him, but I was DREADING this appt. I knew that it was going to involve some sort of needles..either titers or injections...and THAT was gonna go over like a lead balloon! So I forced myself out of the house and all went very well...at first. Sammy is weighing in at a hefty 32 lbs and is 37 inches tall. He is in the 50th percentile for height and the 40th percentile for weight. Now why is he only wearing 2Ts then??? I swear he looks tiny for three...but my ped was kind enough to point out that all 3 of my kiddos just happened to be WELL over the 40th percentile in both height and weight....(Ummm...think like 90th percentile..or more) So that just might be the reason I am thinking :-)...never fear if he keeps up his eating the way he does, we will be outgrowing those 2Ts in not time flat...not to mention the 3T's hahahaha.
Anyway....The ped was thrilled with the way Sammy looked and was quite impressed with how happy a kid he is and his personality! Of course then he had to go and order those darn titers!! So off we slunked down the hall to the ped outpatient center where my darling son played happily, naive to the fact we were about to totally ruin his day. Actually the nurses there are really really good and used the lovely freeze spray to help numb the area and in about 5 min the tragedy was all over!! Tears were dried, snacks and huge stuffed animals were given (he turned on the charm then...) and off we went... Hopefully we are done with injections till kindergarden now!!
Another of my very kind friends stopped over that night to totally make Sammys day. She is from Taiwan and fixed my little guy a few dishes that actually tasted right to him! Now the boy can eat, dont get me wrong...but I have yet to see him eat like he ate that authentic chinese food! WOW. I think it has inspired me to go buy a Wok. He just listened to her..(she speaks mandarin) and smiled and kept shoveling the food in! I am sure he was thinking "finally...someone who knows how to cook!!!"
Today was one of those perfect weather kind of days....Sammy and I took total advantage of it and spent the afternoon at the park. I was so excited that Sammy didnt go up to one stranger and try to hug them and called for me every time I got out of site at the park! Previously Tim and I were thinking he would just walk away with anyone who had a better set of snacks than we did! So to me this is big attachment wise! Not to mention we had a great time!
He absolutely LOVED the swings...
Really? Are your feet supposed to be able to touch your chest?? :-)
Thinkin we are such a big boy!
Took a while to convince him we dont climb UP the slide..
Just had to drive the car
Dont ya just want to squeeze those cheeks??
Cheesin!!One more thing...I developed pictures today (half price prints at walgr**ns through sn*pfish) and so I went through all my pictures I have taken since I returned home..12 days ago...and dumped everything I didnt want (hundreds of shots)...and still printed off 292 pictures!!! Do you all think I have a problem??? Or is this one of those crazy things new adoptive mama's do to torment their children? I swear Sammy is going to soon believe that the camera is permanently attached to my eye! Just wonderin!!
Blessings
Amy
