Yesterday was our visit to the SWI. It was wonderful and sad at the same time. We were not allowed to visit the childrens rooms but we did tour the grounds. On the disposable camera that was sent there is a picture of his bed so at least I have that. We were blessed in the fact that we were able to take pictures of the many children who have parents waiting for them. I know what a blessing it was for us to get those pictures while we wait.
It was sad in many ways to see the children yet know how many more are still waiting with no parents. There was a girl we saw who was brought in to say good bye to our son since she had been his classmate since the beginning. If you have seen my albums of Sammy you have seen her...beautiful! I inquired if she had a family :-) and it seems as if she will not ever get one since her mother is in the hospital with a mental problem. Very sad.
I have to say that our son was well loved in that SWI. He was obviously a favorite. Many many nannies came in to say good bye to him and Kate (the other families daughter who was very favored as well) They were hanging out the windows yelling as well as we left. One nanny in particular is in many photos that I recieved and I am certain has taken him home was just hugging and hugging on him. She and 2 other of his teachers left before us. We saw them at the street corner and he was loved on again. We had a LONG wait for a taxi and the group of nannies were waiting too. Finally they left and walked away. A few minutes later they came up in a taxi, got out and ushered us in so YangYang could get out of the heat...Spoiled by them for certain!
Anyway, we are off for a full day of touring today. We are going to the Nanjing museum and the Nanjing wall. I am hoping that Yangyang does well since he wont have a nap. We are bringing the carrier so hopefully he can sleep in that ;-) He continues to do beautifully...all smiles and love for us!
Here is what you have been waiting for:

This is the guard house to get into the SWI

2 little notes from friends:
I love following your journey each day there. I am thrilled that the nannies love him so, as he will be able to give and receive love well too. I am sure their hearts are breaking seeing him leave, but having peace that a wonderful family will love him forever!
"The visit" can be such a tough day. It's obvious Sammy was loved and cared for, and that is a blessing. Thank you so much for taking pictures of another very special boy! We are so grateful!
Love and hugs~
