We are here....Really this time :-)

We are FINALLY in China!!!
We are just so darn excited and are totally loving it here!
The plane ride was uneventful...we met up with our travel partners Doug and Sue with no problems...they are great!

We are staying at the Renissance Shanghai YuYuan hotel and it is gorgeous...here are some pictures of the room. China itself is so surreal for us. It is a huge mixture of wealth and poverty. On the roads we see decked out cadillacs as well as multiple people on mopeds. It is amazing and humbling. This is a city with enormous amounts of people all crammed into on small space.

We have had a wonderful time so far. We did have a minor mishap in the taxi on the way to the hotel...our taxi not only blew a tire but I think burned out his transmission. All I know is there was alot of frusturated chinese words, we sat at a stoplight with tons of people honking and then we finally got going again...in 3rd gear! Ummmm...poor cabbie! (Li-Ming...it was NOT the one you set up..we road in the second cab:-)

We went to dinner with a great bloggy friend tonight whos son is waiting at the Nanjing SWI with Sammy! Earl took us all to an awsome traditional chinese resturant where we feasted on tons of yummy chinese food!! And nothing had its head attached thank you very much :-)

The hotel had an incredible bar on its roof and we got some cool pix of the Shanghai skyline. We are having a ball! Tomorrow we take the train to Nanjing in the am and will get settled in as we wait to get Sammy! Less than 48 hours from now we will have him with us! I cannot wait!
