Touring Guangzhou...

Today we were up and out the door to tour some of Guangzhou! It is yet another amazing city and there is definate wealth and extreme poverty here with very little middle class. The weather is HOT and humid..very tropical here.

Today we went to the Chen academy, an folk art government store and Liu Hua park. The chen academy was beautiful. We saw some really cool displays of carved ivory, jade, carved wood, porcelain ect...it was all very interesting. The govt store was neat, we got to see how they draw the design on the porcelain, finger paint some gorgeous pictures...not fingerpainting in the kids do it btw. But I honestly have to say that I liked the park the best.

Liu Hua park is HUGE, and right across the street from our hotel. They have a lake with Koi and paddle boats, beautiful trees and a really cool childrens area. We only made it to the childrens area since Yangyang was already ready to nap...the heat wears us all out. I have to say that I was really grateful for our guide Gracy since she was able to translate for us and him but Yangyang got his first taste of carnival rides and it was so sweet! We started off in a car that daddy and him could ride/drive and he loved it. It was hilarious to see Tim sitting there with his knees up to his chest. Once he had a taste of that, he wanted to ride everything..... We rode 4 rides and played a carnival go fish type game. I think I spent less than 5 dollars! There are many many rides we didnt get to go on. We are definately going back so he can play some more!!

Yangyang continues to do so well. He is chattering more and more and is such a clown! He was feeling kind of off today due to his shots yesterday...he was still sore. He and Baba were playing and Tim was going to leave to go work out so I could lay Yangyang down for a nap....Yangyang decided he did NOT want Tim to leave and chased him down and dragged him back to the living room! Too cute.

Here are some pics from our day.....

Amy, Sammy is so cute in the rides. I hope he gets to feeling better soon. Can you understand any of his chatter?
